AutoCabinet Launched

The AutoCabinet has been designed to provide secure access to over 200 different items using a variety of drawers, shelves and dividers. The assortment of storage module sizes make managing both small and large MRO, PPE and many other items a reality (carbide inserts, drill bits, spray cans, tape, safety glasses, air tools, welding tips, solder and more!). The system can also control access to products by item, employee or job.

Unlike many point-of-use dispensing machines, the AutoCabinet manages issue and return transactions of both fast and slow moving items while eliminating the need for individual repacking of items.

AutoCrib introduces Scalemate for RoboCrib

AutoCrib, Inc. unveiled its latest innovation, the ScaleMate, at the 2008 IMTS Show in Chicago, Illinois.  ScaleMate eliminates the need to count small parts and fasteners while maintaining accurate inventory numbers. "Our manufacturing customers wanted to be able to grab a handful of screws or washers without the hassle of counting each one", explains Bruce Weaver, VP of Sales for AutoCrib, "yet they needed to count them to keep their inventories accurate for job costing and to avoid costly shutdowns."

AutoCrib's ScaleMate solves this problem by weighing the parts or fasteners and converting the weights to units. This provides a significant increase in security over typical drawer-based dispensing systems, where the user is asked to report how many of a specific item he is taking. Various human factors like guessing, not reporting or miscounting which cause inventory errors, and ultimately cause stock outs, shut downs, emergency purchase orders and rush shipments.  If the user attempts to trick the system by putting a different item in the bin, the system checks to make sure the new weight is divisible by the per piece weight.  If not, it will report bin contamination to the system administrator.

AutoCrib Introduces Compact RoboCrib 500

AutoCrib, Inc. today releases the latest version of its popular RoboCrib carousel tool dispensing system. The RoboCrib 500 will provide distributors and users with the power of RoboCrib in a compact and mobile machine.

The RoboCrib 500 offers high-security issue and return of a variety of items, including tools, fasteners, welding supplies, MRO, gloves and PPE supplies.  Its flexible configuration allows for both large and delicate items to be dispensed from the same machine at the point of use rather than from a central tool crib saving time and money while increasing control. The smaller size and lower cost means exceptionally rapid payback for smaller companies or for larger companies who want to dispense from more locations to save trip time.

AutoCrib CEO, Steve Pixley explains, "The RoboCrib 500 is very well suited to smaller users as well as larger users who want to de-centralize item delivery as much as possible. This system utilizes a series of counter rotating carousels that provide access to items through fifteen doors, the same proven technology used on the RoboCrib 1000 and RoboCrib 2000. A fully featured 12" touch screen allows users to issue or return items from a maximum of 628 bins. A number of bin sizes are available to accommodate a variety of item sizes and shapes.
